Dabeli Masala Sandwich

A vibrant twist on a beloved Gujarati street food, the Dabeli Masala Sandwich layers spiced mashed potatoes, tangy tamarind chutney, crunchy peanuts, and sev between buttery, toasted bread. Sweet, spicy, and tangy all at once, it’s a flavor explosion that captures the irresistible chaos of Indian street markets.
Cooking Instructions

STEP 1
Peel the potatoes, dice into large cubes and boil until cooked. Then, mash the potatoes and set aside.

In a separate pot add ghee to pot on high heat. Add garlic, peanuts, onions and green chilies. Cook 2-3 minutes on high heat. Add Dabeli Masala. Stir and cook on medium-high heat until fragrant and fully incorporated with the onions, chilies and garlic. Add some water to loosen the cooked masala and vegetables.

STEP 3
Add in the mashed potatoes and mix until well incorporated. Transfer to bowl and add the nylon sev, pomegranate seeds and chopped cilantro. Mix in or garnish on top.

Cut Hawaiian dinner rolls in half and spread butter, Deep Dry Garlic Chutney and Deep Tamarind Chutney. Add 1 scoop of Potato mix and sandwich together. Toast on a hot griddle with butter. Serve and Enjoy.
