We've heard that millennials couldn't buy houses because they spent too much on avocado toast, and we're here to fix that! Make your own at home with our avocado egg naan toast recipe. This dish layers spiced mashed avocado with red onion and chaat masala over crispy toasted naan. It’s topped with a golden turmeric-fried egg and finished with fresh herbs and optional toppings including pickles. This toast makes for a bold, flavorful breakfast.

Cooking Instructions

  • STEP 1

    Prepare the Naan: Preheat oven to 400°. Remove 1-2 pieces of Naan from the bag and glaze with ghee to enhance taste. Heat in oven for 2-2 1/2 minutes, until golden brown and crisp. Set aside.

  • STEP 2

    Make the Avocado Mash: In a bowl, scoop out the avocado. Add lime juice, chopped red onion, chopped green chili, chopped cilantro, chaat masala, Kashmiri red chili powder, and salt. Mash with a fork to your desired consistency (smooth or chunky). Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Set aside.

  • STEP 3

    Cook the Egg(s): Heat a bit of ghee in a small pan. Crack the egg(s) in and sprinkle with turmeric, black pepper, and a pinch of salt. Cook sunny-side up until whites are set but yolk is still soft (or to your preference).

  • STEP 4

    Assemble: Spread the mashed avocado generously over the toasted naan. Place the cooked turmeric egg(s) on top. Season with more salt, pepper, and chili flakes.

  • STEP 5

    Toppings: Add any optional toppings, including fresh herbs or pickles. Garnish with crushed red chilis, extra cilantro, and a dash of chaat masala.
